GOOD DESIGN REQUIRES THE NEEDS TO BE IDENTIFIED PROPERLY.
In the present century, product diversity is changing very fast and variously, while the consumer needs are continiously increasing. It is not quite possible to measure this rapid change neither in the means of diversity nor numerically. Consumer in every extent, desires to own functional products facilitating their lives as well as these products being esthetic and offering economic solutions.
As per the products supplied to the customers, the companies at the very beginning, are aware of the fact that whatever business they are operating in, the product they offer has to be functional, economic and esthetically designed. They aim to manage their production considering the criteria gathered from regular researches they carry on and feedback they receive from customers. Consumers determine their needs and expect solutions to them. The expectation always is, to own products which do not contain economic, functional and esthetic problems.
Design does not only serve the need to relieve the concerns in the area by creating functional and esthetic products, but it also increases the competing power by generating new products, new markets in the competitive environment growing everyday, and developing new economies at the same time.
In order for the companies to express their products properly under this rough competitive conditions, they need to produce good design; and a good design requires the needs to be identified properly.
While the purpose is making the product more valuable by creative studies, whatever the subject of the design is, having an understanding of social and environmental issues is of the most importance.
